The greatest enemy of the human being is fear. Fear can also be noted as anxiety disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, separation anxiety and the fear of places, events and situations that might cause mental confusion, helplessness or it can be an embarrassment.
Fear is a negative thought in our mind. Supplant it with a constructive thought. It has killed millions. It has strong roots in human evolution. Confidence is more significant than fear. Nothing is more powerful than faith in good and God. If a person doesn't feel fear, they couldn't protect themselves from legitimate threats, which in the old world frequently resulted in life or death consequences.
Fear is behind failure, sickness and poor human relations. Many people are afraid of the past, the future, old age, insanity and death. But fear is a thought in your mind. This means that you are scared of your own thoughts.
As old monks said that "Do the things you are afraid to do, and the death of fear is certain." When we affirm positively that we are going to master our fears, and we come to a definite decision in our mind, we release the power of our own mind, which flows in response to the nature of our thought. The world is full of people who are afraid that something terrible will happen to themselves. When they read about an epidemic of some rare disease, they live in fear that they will catch it. Some imagine they have the disease already. All this is an abnormal fear.
If we remain at the extreme of fear, we will suffer stagnation plus mental and physical deterioration. When doubt arises, one of the fundamental laws of the mind immediately brings with it a desire for something opposite to the things feared.
Let us take an example if we are afraid of height and skydiving then we can apply that we can have the imagination of skydiving freely, joyously. Project ourselves into high altitudes mentally. Feel the chill and thrill of diving. As we do this subjectively, we will be compelled to go onto the height and conquer it. We will be amazed by how quickly the fear will be dissipated. This is the law of our mind.
When the humankind is born, they only have only two types of fear. These are the fear of falling and the fear of noise. All our other concerns are acquired. So we have to get rid of them.
At last, I say look at your fears, hold them up to for a reason. Then laugh at your fears, that is the best medicine. Meditation and Yoga are the best cure for your anxiety. This creates power within you, and when your thoughts are focused on that which is good.
